Real-time Flex IS integration with SAP ECC 6.0
How do I get my data from the machine into SAP?
With the X10 Industrial Gateway you can easily read the data of your Emhart IS machines via the Flex IS Protocol . These are then transferred in real time to relevant Actyx applications. The SAP ECC 6.0 integration enables the import of data into the ERP in a predefined data schema.
How does machine data acquisition with Flex IS work?
The Machine Data Collection (MDC) application is installed on the Actyx Industrial Gateway, which is based on the Hilscher netPI. Data translation for the respective data schema of the system can be configured via the graphical configuration interface. The gateway comes with an ethernet plug for your Emhart IS machine and is extremely robust, so that it can also be used flexibly in the extreme environments of glass manufacturing. The gateway also supports further machine integrations, such as OPC UA, OPC DA (classic) or Bottero IS.
Maintain data sovereignty in your SAP system
When dealing with a heterogeneous IT landscape, it is more important than ever to have a reliable source of truth in the data center. Competing secondary systems or isolated solutions can even pose a business risk. Therefore, it is important to seamlessly integrate with SAP for relevant data when it comes to MDC. For this purpose, a standard interface, operated on an Actyx virtual machine, is used to stream data into your ERP system in real-time. SAP thus remains the leading system for relevant data points.
Factory Software Made Simple
Transferring data from machines into SAP comes with a new kind of service, that eliminates all traditional problems of IT projects in glass manufacturing. Consulting is included and you only pay once the solution is up and running. All software and hardware components are installed in less than 8 weeks and completely operated by Actyx, with 100% cost control. Learn more about the Actyx All-Inclusive Package.
Extend at the click of a button: leverage collected data with reporting, analytics and dashboards
If you collect machine data using Flex IS, you will have access to more data than what would be relevant in SAP. However, this data can still add value to your operations. For a positive business impact, machine data collection can easily be extended, for example by the Reporting & Analytics application or by Visual Management Dashboards that display relevant data in real-time. This data is especially useful in the glass manufacturing industry for data on line dashboards (hot and cold end), factory overviews, daily planning and reports about job changes, OEE and process data.
Combine machine data collection with mobile terminals for higher data quality and more flexibility
When data from your Emhart IS machines is imported into SAP or used for analytics, this is often only the beginning. The added value potential can be increased by comprehensive end-to-end data acquisition. Collecting and centralizing all data about batch plants, melting furnaces, counters and QA machines create the basis for optimizing setup processes. Adjusters at the hot end can be informed within seconds of relevant QA machine events from the cold end and react quickly via the Mobile Team Collaboration application. Those responsible can be notified of machine downtimes through push notifications, SMS or email with relevant information. You can find additional information on how end-to-end data can be translated into added value in our Actyx solution for glass manufacturing.
Data and transparency only become helpful, if they are leveraged through deriving, formulating and measuring operational initiatives to add value.
